Because of our extensive training and qualifications, The Muffler Shop is a State of Nevada Certified Smog/Repair Station. There are only a hand full of facilities qualified and capable of performing diesel smog checks in the Las Vegas / Henderson area and we are one of them.
We are one of the few local facilities that has invested in the equipment to perform The State of Nevada’s diesel smog checks. Our Mustang Dynamometer, MD-250HD can perform most diesel smog checks on vehicles up to 14,000 lbs.
Our certified technicians will perform the diesel smog checks correctly so the results are accurate to meet the State of Nevada standards. We can usually accommodate a “While You Wait” diesel smog check service for you between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:45 pm Monday through Friday.

What’s that bump, clunk, squeal, or screech that I am hearing?
We get some variation of this question about 20 times per day! Unfortunately, it’s hard to tell exactly what’s wrong without using the proper diagnostic equipment. We’ve got the tools to do it, so bring you car in and we’ll let you know exactly what’s causing your mystery sound.
Does it hurt my car if I drive with the check engine light on?
It is possible, but unless the light is flashing then you’re usually okay for a short distance. It’s more likely that you’ll experience reduced performance. We do recommended that you come see us right away, to see what exactly is wrong before it can do long-term damage.
How do I know what is the correct tire pressure for my car?
The recommended tire pressure is set by the tire manufacturer. Tire pressure is measured in PSI (pounds per square inch) and you can find your recommended pressure on the side of your tires. Properly inflated tires will help you get better gas mileage and reduce tire wear.
